Day 50 #POVChallenge

One of the biggest challenges I have… is detaching to recharge.
.
The chaos of life and moving so quickly, it’s like a drug to me.
.
The adrenaline you get from creating your destiny…
.
The sense of fulfillment of reaching your goals….
.
The urgency you have to move forward to keep winning…
.
It’s very hard to detach from all that because I know how amazing winning feels… and I want to keep chasing it.
.
But… a race car can only go so long, until it needs to pit.
.
And if you crash that car… game over. You’re out of the race.
.
I’ve noticed when I slam the throttle down too hard for too long, I burn out.
.
Anxiety rises. Depression rises. Stress rises.
.
And I can’t have that if I want to perform at my best.
.
Some days… doing things to relax literally feels like ripping out my teeth.
.
When you’re wired this way, it’s the last thing you want to do.
.
But remember…
.
ITS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING YOU CAN DO.
.
My challenge for you this week… is to take a few hours for yourself.
.
Go book a massage. Go to the spa. Turn off your phone and have a drink.
.
Taking a break, is an investment into yourself and your performance.
.
So even if it’s the hardest thing in the world for you to do… Start taking the breaks you need seriously… or you’ll end up crashing the racecar.
